Make up Trends that Need to Stay in the Past
The main reason why most women wear make up is to enhance their own facial features, but these days it seems like people are truly missing that point, and loading on the make up in all the wrong places. In this post we will be talking about the most common ways women misuse makeup, and hopefully this will help you stay clear of these mistakes.
Thick Foundation
Everyone knows that heavy make up does not enhance your face, but rather makes you look older than you really are. Instead of caking on the make up try using a tinted moisturizer, I love YouRebel by Benefit it works amazing at covering my flaws without being too heavy on my skin. After applying press a damp make up sponge to areas where you have wrinkles to soak up any excess
A Base that’s too Light
Foundation that is paler than your natural skin tone not only looks silly but exaggerates fine lines. Even if you have an ivory colored complexion, you need to go a little bit warmer so as to not look like a vampire or a ghost, especially as you age. Try something that has luminescent particles or a light reflective formula which makes skin look like it’s glowing. Try Too Faced Amazing Face Oil Free Foundation or Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation. Both are made with light reflective properties which enable you to have a sheer, dewey look!
Apply Blush Correctly
Instead of loading your cheeks up with blush try to focus it on the apple of your cheeks, applying it first there then brushing up as you go. Also try to stay away from extremely bold colors that are just going to make you look like a clown. Don’t get me wrong a color may look bold in the package, but comes out a beautiful color, so make sure you are testing before you buy. A beautiful color that I love is Nars Blush in Mata Hari which is a neutral rose color.
Mascara on the Bottom Lashes
If you haven’t mastered this technique by now, I’d advise to just stay away from doing it all together. Sometimes I feel like being adventurous and put mascara on my bottom lashes, and always end up with flaking underneath my eyes, which looks terrible. Rather I focus on my top lashes by first curling them for about five seconds and then applying the blackest mascara out there. Right now I am loving They’re Real by Benefit, but just bought Voluminous Lashes by L’Oreal, and can’t wait to try it because I have heard so many great things about it!
Eyeliner on the Bottom Eyelashes
If you have been blessed with extremely large eyes then by all means wear eyeliner on your bottom lashes, but if you were born with regular to small eyes I’d advise to stay away. Putting eyeliner on your bottom lash line just makes your eyes look smaller. Instead stick to a liquid eyeliner on the top starting out thin and extending a little bit farther than your lash line to give you a sexy, cat eye look. I am loving Multiply Lash Enhancing Liquid Eyeliner by Tarte.
Ordering this mascara, the face brush, benefit eyebright and high beam. Thanks girl :)
