Bumble and Bumble

So in this post I am going to talk about one of my most favorite hair care lines: Bumble and Bumble.  This is a brand you used to only be able to find at salons, but I've noticed that you can now purchase it at local drug stores.  The line that I am going to talk about today is the Bumble and Bumble Thickening Line.  It was introduced to me by my hair dresser because my hair isn't that full or thick, rather it is more fine and thin, but I am ALWAYS trying to get me some big hair.  Nothing looks better than a girl with lush, full hair, and this line can help you achieve it if you weren't born with full, thick hair.  Heres the steps I take:

1. Work about a quarter sized amount of shampoo into my hair and really scrub.  I usually work it into my hair for a minute or two so that it can really work its magic on my hair.  I rinse it out and automatically feel a difference in my hair.  It feels a little heavier (in a good way) almost like hair has been added to my head.

2. One of the most important things to do in the shower that most of us women do NOT do is apply conditioner on correctly.  I learned this from a video blogger I watch religiously, who is also a hair dresser. she recommends that prior to applying conditioner you should squeeze out all of the excess water from your hair, and also take a small towel and towel dry your hair in the shower.  After your hair is not sopping wet, apply conditioner to your hair, starting at the ends and working your way up.  I usually apply this conditioner before I do some of the other things i need to do in the shower ie: wash my body, shave, wash my face etc.  This product specifically tells you to leave it in for a minute or two so as to allow the conditioner to do what it's meant to do.  Before I wash it out i usually take a comb or a small brush that I keep in the shower and gently brush through my hair.  Finally I thoroughly rinse.

3. After I get out of the shower I give my hair a good towel dry so its not sopping wet.  When using the thickening spray, I prefer my hair to be on the dryer side, not completely dry but not extremely wet.  Before I apply the thickening spray I apply something called the Tonic Spray also made by Bumble and Bumble.  This product is AMAZING.  You spray it all over your head and massage it into your scalp and you'll feel a little cool tingle.  It helps to detangle your hair and also preps it for other products you may put on after.  I let the tonic sit for a little and then spray my ENTIRE head with the thickening hair spray.  I flip my head over, towel dry my hair a little again, and then I'm ready to blow dry!

4.  I blow dry my hair in sections, and by the end I have hair that looks thick, full and absolutely luscious!

I absolutely LOVE this line, but need to remind you this is not a line to use every day.  It does have stuff in it that weighs your hair down, and isn't ideal for a daily shampoo/conditioner, but rather should be saved for special events where full, thick hair is a MUST.  You can find this line at local salons that carry it, the drug store has some of the line, and also SEPHORA!

Thickening Shampoo- $22
Thickening Conditioner- $23
Thickening Hair Spray- $26
Tonic Spray- $19

I know the products are a tad pricey but sometimes money goes a long way if you want your hair to look a certain way!
