Want to be a Bombshell?

Christmas seems like a distant memory as of right now, but that doesn’t mean that the presents have to stop!  I was lucky enough to get a Sephora Gift Card, and usually would want to spend it all on makeup.  That is until I came across something that I needed to have.  If you have never heard about the Sultra Bombshell, this is your chance to hear about one of the BEST, I mean literally the BEST curling iron on the market.  I treated myself to this present and am more than thrilled that I did.

What it is:  This is one of the top selling curling irons on the market right now.  The Japanese Kyocera Ceramic Technology that this curling iron is formulated with helps to mend and defend hair while you style, which is awesome because curling irons can do some MAJOR damage to your hair.  The Bombshell is a curling wand, meaning that there is no clip on it, which can give you those unwanted creases we all dread.  Instead you simply wrap hair around the curling iron, instead of clipping the bottom of your hair with a clamp.  It is also said to curl your hair in half the time of traditional clip irons, which I can vouch for my hair literally took 15 minutes.  It comes in 2 different sizes 1 inch, which is ideal for longer hair and ¾ inch which is perfect for shorter hair, or hair with shorter layers.  I purchased the ¾ and it is AMAZING it literally makes my hair look like I just stepped out of the salon.

What it’s for:  This puppy can do all different types of curling, depending on how loosely or tightly you wrap your hair around it.  You can achieve soft ringlets, or a beachy wave look.  It’s literally so easy, you just wrap your hair around and hold it there for about 10-15 seconds, slide the barrel out of the hair, and hold hair in the curl to cool off.  Repeat this step and you will have a beautiful, styled hair do that stands up against pricey salons.  This weekend I curled my hair to go out on a Saturday night, and woke up the next morning with soft waves still intact.  When I went out the next night, I just touched up some of the curls and seriously they looked as good as the night before.  But it doesn’t end there I had something to do for a 3rd night and just didn’t feel like washing it, so I used my favorite dry shampoo on my roots, retouched the curls and looked amazing.  Below is a picture of my hair on the 3rd day.  Still looking as amazing as the first day!  I used a little bit of hairspray and Bumble and Bumbles Grooming Cream after curling hair, but barely any.

(My boyfriend doesn't know how to smile haha)

What people are saying: What made me want this curling iron so badly was the rave reviews on the Sephora website.  Here are just a couple:

Review 1 - Before i found this curler, my hair would barely hold a curl. like other reviewers, i had tried probably every curler out there and nothing seemed to work. the bombshell is easy to use with some practice and the best part- i don't even need to use hairspray! the sultra website also shows video tutorials on how to use your new tool. i would recommend to anyone, it is definitely worth the price

Review 2 - This is the best and fastest curling iron ever. It really does cut your time in half. I have A LOT of hair..thick hair and it would take me 45 minutes or more to curl my hair but now it only takes twenty. The iron heats up fast and makes your curls just feel so luxurious, insanely shiny and soft. I would recommend this to EVERYONE. I bought it for my sister for christmas and then bought myself one immediately after I tried it. SERIOUSLY well worth the money. A+

Review 3 - I absolutely love this thing. I read all the other reviews and I have to say I agree 100 % with them. I always wondered why it was impossible to get celebrity curls like the Kardashians, etc. I tried a million different things with a regular curling iron.. bought a drugstore cone-shaped wand (Remington)... even watched a ton of YouTube videos - but nothing ever turned out right. I had given up until my parents bought me this. It takes a couple of tries to get the hang but once you do, you will have natural waves and curls that look like you got your hair done. No ridiculous looking sausage spirals all over your head. I really like that it's barrel shaped and not cone shaped - with the cone shaped iron my hair slides right off and it was impossible to work with. My hair doesn't slide around on this one. Also my first impression was "wow, this heats up insanely fast!" It literally goes from zero to fully charged in a minute or two. What a time saver. Please be careful though because it does get hot and it's way too easy to burn yourself, even with the glove, before you get the hang of things. I have a gross burn on my right forearm that barely hurt when it happened, but turned into this disgusting mark. Hm... what else? Oh, the curls really do stay for days. I got mega lazy in the few days after doing my hair - didn't even shower because I didn't want to mess with my hair! (Gross, I know.) The curls gradually got looser but it was a good thing. It still looked great. They stayed shiny and bouncy and amazing. I know it's expensive- I didn't spend the money though, thankfully my parents did REAL good this year. If you can get it as a birthday or holiday gift, I highly recommend adding it to your next wish list.

Don’t believe that all the reviews could be THAT good?  Check out the Sephora website for yourself and you will see that both the 1 inch and ¾ are rated 5 stars, which is AMAZING.  The only downfall people have is that it is $130, which is A LOT, but let me tell you from personal experience it is worth every single penny.  The only precaution I would tell you to take is to wear the glove that it comes with.  This thing gets sooooooooo extremely hot, so don’t risk it just wear the glove.  You can purchase this curling wand at Sephora or on the Sultra website.  If you want a tutorial on how to use this curling iron click this link - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EhzY5qEXICk
