Get Shiny, Silky Smooth Hair Now

Last night I did a couple things to my hair that made it extremely soft and full of shine and I want to share my secrets with you.  I mean who doesn’t want extremely shiny, soft hair that you can’t stop touching?

Coconut Oil Treatment
I first started out by doing a coconut oil treatment on my hair and scalp.  I use this because coconut oil is said to have some amazing benefits for hair and scalp, and so many other things.  When it comes to hair, coconut oil helps to prevent protein loss that is caused by shampooing our hair.  It also helps to replenish natural oils in your hair that give it the shine and bounce you desire.  If you suffer from breakage or split ends this is perfect for your hair because this oil helps to strengthen the hair shaft.  Polynesian women have been using coconut oil for YEARS on their hair passing this ritual down from generation to generation, resulting in thick extremely shiny hair.

How to apply it: The first step to applying this can be done 2 different ways depending on your preference.  Start by heating the oil up in the microwave.  Next either apply it to dry hair starting at the scalp and working your way down your hair or shampoo your hair first and apply it to damp towel dried hair.  Take the time to really massage it into your scalp, then take a comb and really comb it through your hair ensuring that it is applied evenly to hair and scalp.  Now take a shower cap and leave it on your hair as long as possible (I left it on for about 2 hours).  Next either shampoo it out if mask was applied to dry hair, or rinse it out and apply a good conditioner.  After you shower you will immediately feel and see a difference in your hair it should feel extremely silky smooth even if it is wet.

Use this mask 1-2 times a week and experience hair that is amazingly shiny and soft, like you’ve never seen or felt before.  You can purchase coconut oil at your local grocery store for about $7.

Pantene Pro V Restore Beautiful Lengths Treatment
This mask is formulated to strengthen hair against breakage and damage so you can grow your hair longer.  It helps to restore moisture back into dry damaged hair with its thick, creamy formula.  As your hair grows longer it is exposed to more harmful elements like washing and blow drying that can result in split ends, breakage, frizziness and fly aways.  Basically this is my new best friend.  I had heard about this from a lot of different people, but was weary because of the stigma Pantene has.  I decided to go ahead and try it last night and WOW this stuff is absolutely amazing.

How to Apply: I first applied a coconut oil mask to my hair, left it in for 2 hours and then shampooed.  I unfortunately suffer from a skin problem on my scalp so I am forced to use T Gel at least once a week, but that really doesn’t affect how my hair looks.  Then I squeeze out all of the excess water from my hair, using a little hand towel if one is available to really get my hair damp, not wet.  Then I apply the mask first focusing on the ends of my hair and working my way up. I leave it in for about 5 minutes while I wash my body, face, etc.  Next I comb my hair to get out any tangles, and to make sure the mask is evenly distributed then I thoroughly wash it out and style as normal.

After just the first use all I have to say is WOW!  This stuff is one of the most amazing products I have EVER used.  My hair has never felt so silky smooth and my ends have never looked so healthy in my life.   You can buy this at any local CVS or Walgreens for about $10.

Kerastase Elixir Ultime
I have been an avid Moroccan Oil user, until I was introduced to this stuff.  This is right now my absolute favorite product, and I am going to tell you why.  This is a powerful cocktail of anti oxidant active ingredients that give you ultimate shine and suppleness while promoting hair’s cellular renewal.  This versatile product brings shine, nourishment and extreme deep conditioning to hair, while also smoothing the hair fiber.  It restores strength to hair and helps to protect strands from external extremities.  This bad boy can be used in a variety of ways.  You can use it before shampooing for intense conditioning, on damp hair for intense conditioning, before blow drying for protection and shine, on dry, styled hair as a finishing touch for enhanced shine and frizz control, or applied to dry ends through out the day for ultimate smoothness.

How to Apply:  After I washed my hair, and towel dried it so that it was damp and not soaking wet, I applied about 3 pumps of this starting with the ends of my hair and working my way up, combing it through with my fingers.  Then I styled as usual and literally my hair looked like it has never looked before.  It was so shiny and extremely soft to the point where I could not stop touching my hair, and I usually never play with my hair.  My hair looks like it was professionally done, and that is why I will continue to buy this product long after this bottle is done.  Unfortunately a big bottle of this runs you about $45, but the positive about buying this is that it will last you SOOO long and is literally worth every penny.  If you don’t want to make the splurge I know that the Lord’s and Ladies in West Roxbury sells the travel size bottle for $20!

Also I should mention where I purchased these products so that you can find them easily.  Virgin Coconut Oil can be found at any local grocery store or Whole Foods.  The Pantene ProV Beautiful Lengths can be found at any CVS, Walgreens, Target or online at Amazon.com.  The Kerastase Elixir can be found at any salon that carries Kerastase products, on the Kerastase website, or on Amazon.com!
