Not all women love to wear foundation, but I think it is great and makes for a great canvas for the rest of your make up. If applied correctly foundation should make your skin look airbrushed and flawless, while hiding your imperfections, making for an all around amazing look. Here are some ideas I have for foundations (and concealers)!
Makeup Forever Mat Velvet + Foundation- Although this product may come across as a thick foundation, due to it being medium to full coverage, it is formulated to not feel thick or heavy when on your skin. This badboy literally covers everything from sunspots to acne scarring so it is perfect for people who are looking for this full coverage. Another thing to note about this product it that is meant for longtime wearing meaning it holds up while over the course of the day. It also claims to be water resistant which means it can hold up if you sweat or happen to get caught in some light rain. This does not mean that you can jump in a pool and have your make up continue to look flawless. Also if you have oily skin this product will work amazingly on you and it also helps to reduce shine. $34
Nars Sheer Glow- This product is known for the finishing effects on your skin. Instead of looking like you caked make up on to your face, this helps to make your skin look glowing and dewy rather than dull and lifeless. You will notice a sheen over your face after applying this. Unlike the foundation mentioned before, this one does not have that great of coverage and should be reserved for a more natural look. $42
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup – so many people are scared to buy foundations at a drug store and rightfully so. It is usually hard to correctly match your skin tone to something that you can’t try on first. When you master this technique of knowing what shade you are then give this puppy a go. It is AMAZING! Despite the built in applicator everything about this product is awesome. It is meant to smooth out your lines over time, and helps to not accentuate them when you have make up on. Also if you suffer from uneven skin texture or the occasional pimple don’t worry because this stuff won’t cake around your problem areas like so many foundations do. I would recommend just dotting it on the face and then using an actual make up brush to blend it in. This feels very moisturizing on your skin and really seems to sink into your skin instead of just sitting on top of it. Even if you do not have mature skin, or don’t duffer from fine lines still give this stuff a go it is perfect for any type of skin! $9
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment- this is the concealer from the same brand that the previous foundation is from, and this stuff is just as amazing as its foundation counterpart. It really smoothes over your under eye circles and is ultra pigmented so it truly does cover those pesky under eye circles or bags. The results are no less than amazing and the finish this product leaves on your face looks flawless, and truly makes you look younger with those bags masked. $9.99
MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural Powder- loose minerals tend to be very messy, but this mineralized powder isn’t messy at all. Use a big fluffy brush, delicately swirl your brush around and lightly apply the make up to your face. The key to this is not caking it on, just put in on your cheeks, nose, forehead and chin. The finish of this is extremely natural and looks awesome over foundation without making your face look powdery. I absolutely love this stuff, because it can also double as a bronzer! $27
MAC Studio Finish Concealer – This stuff is awesome because it comes with SPF 35, but also comes highly pigmented so that it covers every little imperfection you may have. So this stuff is basically amazing as is every other MAC product out there so give this a try if you have little imperfections or redness that you need to fix. $17
