Color Me Bronze

As of right now my skin is pasty white and I am hating it so this post will be focusing on some bronzers that are on the market that I have either tried, researched, or want to try.  In the above picture Bar exudes confidence, and seems to be glowing from the inside out due to her impeccably tanned skin ( I'm jealous)  I would love some feedback from my readers, I can’t do this without you so please leave any comments, ideas or anything you want in the comment section below.  Also if you have purchased something I have recommended, I can’t stress this enough, please please please write me a comment or a post on facebook telling me what your experience with the product has been.  I give you these posts and now it’s your turn to give me something that I can use to benefit this blog!

Hoola by Benefit Cosmetic – this awesome bronzer comes packaged in a cute container that emits girly, fun, flirty vibes.  If your just starting to read this blog I will tell you that I am a huge fan of Benefit Cosmetics.  I love them because I have had nothing but amazing experiences with every single one of their products.  I do not own this product but have tried it on in Sephora.  The color in the package is a deep brown/bronze color, but when applied does not come out so dark, but rather a perfect shade of bronze for all skin colors.  It also comes with a cute little brush to apply the formula, but I leave this behind and opt for a bronzing brush.  Another awesome thing about this product is that it comes WITHOUT sparkles and is rather matte which is something I love.  Sparkles and glitter just make you look like a 6th grader whose trying make up for the first time, but that doesn’t mean all sparkle is bad, just find the right balance.  This bronzer comes in a cardboard packaging which is the only down fall I can find with it.  Just be careful not to casually throw it into your makeup bag.  Finally this product is said to last people about a year which is awesome and worth the $28 you will spend :)

Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder – this bronzing powder is ideal for women with darker skin tones, and ok for those with fair skin but should be applied with a light hand.  Bobbi Brown’s products are amazing, and should be supported by people from Massachusetts since she attended school here (and to this day has a make up class offered at Emerson).  The main focus in her make up lines is to enhance natural beauty using a lot of browns and bronze colors.  This bronzer is no exception because it enhances your face without making you look too orange, or dirty.  It comes in a durable plastic case, and also comes in a couple different colors.  This applies to skin smoothly and effortlessly, and looks amazing on.  With this line coming in about 7 different colors you are sure to find one that doesn’t look like it’s sitting on top of your skin, too dark, too orangey or whatever your bronzing woes are.  $35 at Sephora

Nars Laguna Bronzing Powder- this is one of the most well known bronzers on the market for good reason.  Nars makes some incredible products and Laguna is one of those amazing products that everyone should try.  This comes in a cool, rectangular shaped container that is durable but also very handy because it comes with a built in mirror.  This formula works well even on very faired skin, which is usually extremely hard to match.  You don’t need a lot of this product, just dab a little on the cheeks, nose and forehead and experience skin that looks glowing and sunkissed.  One downfall someone may have with this is that there is a tad of shimmer to it, but no one ever said that a LITTLE shimmer was a bad thing.  $33 at Sephora

Physicians Formula in Sunlight- if you are opting for a more cost efficient bronzer this might be your go to.  It comes in a durable, plastic case and is also designed to look like there is a sun in the middle ( COOL :D)  This color is designed more for darker skin tones, but hey try it out if it works for you then GREAT!  Many people who have bought the product feel like it gives them a sunkissed glow without a hint of orange.  At $11.99 this is an absolute steal!

Bare Escentuals Faux Tan All Over Face Color – if you don’t own at least one Bare Escentuals product you seriously must be living on Mars.  Most of these products are great alternatives to heavy foundations or concealers because they come in a light powder form.  This comes in powder form and in the packaging looks like a very dark color, but when applied doesn’t look as dark on skin.   I usually love BE’s products but this one can be a little tricky.  If you have too much makeup on the brush it can create what looks like a dirty spot on your face when you first apply it.  You literally have to apply this with the lightest of hands, and if you can master this technique you can enjoy not only a bronzer, but this too covers your imperfections a little making it easier to skip the foundation or the concealer for the day.  $19 at Sephora
Right now those are some of the bronzers on the market that intrigue me and are definitely worth a try.  If you feel like some of these products are a tad over priced remember the better quality ones usually last far longer than ones that I have previously purchased from a drug store.
