Keeping my hair healthy and beautiful is one of the most important things to me. Nothing looks worse then fried ends, frizzies, and unmanageable looking hair. So here are some of my favorite products that will help you maintain that healthy mane of yours. Hope you enjoy!
Crème de Coco Masque – This masque was recommended to me by one of my wonderful readers/friends. I thought I had tried everything under the sun from Bumble and Bumble but boy was I wrong. This masque is amazing and a must try! This masque comes packed with 3 different tropical butters that bring back your hairs moisture, silkiness, softness, shine and gloss. This formula is ideal for hair that is dry and dull, but also for all other hair types that are just looking for an extra boost (except extra fine hair). It smells absolutely amazing like coconut and an island vacation, and the scent really lasts on your hair which is something that is hard to find in a product. Literally my boyfriend couldn’t stop smelling my hair because he thought it smelled so amazing!
How to use: You can use this after washing with the Crème de Coco Shampoo, but it can be used after any other shampoo. I used it after my Bumble and Bumble Sunday shampoo and absolutely loved the results. First squeeze out all the excess water from your hair, even using a little towel to really dry the hair so it is not soaking wet. Next apply the masque starting at the ends of your hair and working up. It says to leave it on for about 7 minutes, but this masque is so versatile that you can leave it on for 7 minutes up to an entire night. Distinguish how much help your hair could use, and then leave it in for that long. Afterwards style as normal, and experience hair that is extremely soft, manageable, and insanely shiny. This puppy is worth the $27, but if you want to try it out first I know Sephora has good samples of it! Here are some reviews on the products and I’m sure if I didn’t convince you yet, these will.
Review 1 - My hair is pretty damaged since I have been coloring it about ever 4 weeks for the past 11 years. I haven't cut my hair in several months because I am trying to grow it out for my wedding. My hair is naturally very thick and coarse and then there's the damage from color treating. This is the only thing that I have found that makes my hair not look like a bad pile is split ends! It makes my hair feel so soft and healthy. And it smells AMAZING!!! I received a sample of this with an online Sephora order and as soon as I used it I went and bought the full size!!
Review 2 - So many anti-frizz serums, conditioners, etc. claim to be able to take on the humidity of the tropics and leave hair looking smooth and feeling silky. My experience has been that most either work for a very limited time (lucky if I can make it out of the car with the original look) or really weigh hair down. This conditioning masque really delivers! And I suspect if I had wrapped my hair in a towel for my intense conditioning as also suggested, it would have smoothed the stubborn few frizzies that popped up, but I am very happy with the results. The scent is very mild and my hair feels baby smooth. No heaviness or oily look. B&B comes through again!
Review 3 - Not only does this product smell absolutely divine but it moisturizes my dry color-treated and highlighted blonde hair like none other. I use it at least twice a week and sleep with it in my hair once a week. Would have given it five stars but it's pricey for the size of the tube
Living Proof Restore Masque- Keeping with some deep conditioning masques, this is one of my absolute FAVORITES right now. I am a big fan of blow drying, straightening and curling, and sometimes my hair seems to lose the shine and softness it once had. That was until I found this puppy. This is a once a week intensive treatment that literally nourishes each strand. It helps to increase the strength and manageability of your hair while leaving it soft, shiny and extremely smooth. If you haven’t heard more about the Living Proof line please look on the side of this page and find the link to the post where I go into depth about these products. Basically they are the bomb.com and are formulated by MIT scientists. These scientists have discovered a moisture-controlling molecule, called PolyfluoroEster, which helps to restore the protective layer on dry and damaged hair. You can use this with the rest of the Restore line, or use whatever other shampoo you want to use. This stuff makes my hair feel amazing, like I just stepped out of the salon. Its so extremely shiny and SOFT SOFT SOFT! I absolutely love this stuff and recommend it to anyone who uses heat on their hair. Want to hear more? Here are some reviews of this masque
Review 1 - i used the restore mask for the first time this morning... i am so happy with it. my hair has lost it's softness and bounce, today i have it back. i could tell a difference in my hair as i was putting it in. so happy i splurged!
Review 2 - in the past two years, my hair has become very dry tending toward frizziness and split ends. This really transforms my hair into something more manageable, less frizzy, and really soft. I use it once a week in the shower and once a week as an overnight treatment and my hair just looks and feels so much better than before. The best part for me is the smell. It is fresh and soft without being too perfumy. I have sensitive allergies to the point where I can't even where perfume because I make myself sneeze. I've tried the Ojon mask and the scent was just too much for me and it left my hair a little weighed down. This smells fantastic, moisturizes my hair and does not weigh it down.
Review 3 - I decided to try this after watching the very convincing marketing video and having great luck with their Straight spray. The price was somewhat off-putting but with Sephora's stellar return policy I went ahead and took the plunge. I am glad I did because I am in love with this product. It makes my color treated, curly hair shiny, bouncy and healthy looking especially when I straighten it with my the flat iron. The product has a great clean light citrus sent that isn't over powering. I like it so much I bought another jar...usually I am on to the next thing before I even finish the first.
So if those reviews, and my opinion didn’t win you over maybe the fact that you can get a travel size shampoo, conditioner, and masque for $29 at Sephora is an absolute STEAL seeing as the regular size masque is $42
Bumble and Bumble Styling Cream- This formula is amazing. This is neither a gel nor a mousse but acts like both of them. It can slick back your hair, give roots some lift, adds body to lifeless hair, and can also define curls with a strong hold. This stuff is lightweight, and can be buildable in your hair depending on the look you are trying to achieve. I like to layer this with my B and B grooming cream for a polished look that lacks frizz and fly aways. Want to hear more? Here are what some people are saying about this product
Review 1 - I was searching for a product I could use with my thin, slightly wavy hair. I use the product two ways. One way, I put the cream in my wet hair and scrunch sections to create waves. The creme holds all day without being too stiff. The second way, I put in my wet hair right before blow drying and straightening. It keeps my hair straight and smooth all day. LOVE this product.
Review 2 - Love Bumble and Bumble produce because they always smell good and have lasting effect. This works well on dry and wet hair and reacts better when you use a hair dryer. I found that using a little of this on my finger tips and applying onto my bangs I can blow dry them into shape when they're curling all over the place.
Review 3 - I don't know why I ever strayed from this. I used it more than 4 years ago and re-purchased at least 3 times... then I guess I got wandering eyes. I recently got a sample of this at Sephora and immediately went out and bought the full size again. This gives my hair fluffy, weightless volume and lifts my roots. I have a LOT of extremely fine, stick straight, smooth hair that hates to hold anything unless I have product in it. I love this. And I love that it's one product that does so much.
As you can tell this is a fan favorite product, and for good reason. If you’re not completely sold you can try out a small bottle of this for $8 but regularly this will run you $25
